I know I said I was gonna spend a long time on this. But I guess I didn't. I just couldn't stop! I couldn't help myself!

Well almost everything on here is experimental, mostly techniques I developed doing random NiGHTS fanart, and alot of stuff I'll probably never remember how to do ever again XD Hurray!

I went with the Boris Vallejo-esque blue-in-the-skin technique, as I haven't done it in a while, but I made it less prominent than I usually do. I treated this pretty much like painting, the red in the hair and on the gloves was all one layer. The skin was all one layer. I'm pretty sure the blue highlights in the gloves and hair were also all one layer.

I messed around with the smudge, dodge and burn tools a whole lot. Originally I wasn't gonna keep that screentone in, but I decided to tint it and work it into the ethereal background I was making. I also colored most of the line, something I haven't done lately.

I didn't mean for the background to come out so... shoujo.. and originally it was gonna be more of a FLCL-ish blue and orange, but I like what I came out with.

I was also gonna sneak in some fractured Modest Mouse lyrics very faintly (I can't.. stop.. listening to them! ) cause I was listening to their music pretty much the entire time working on this, but it upset the background too much.

So there you have it. It's colored. And way ahead of the time I meant to take on it. x__x now I'll have to try to resist drawing something else to color instead of cleaning and organizing my room.
