Yay for titles with hilarious double meanings. Really.. I suck at titles, I do, but I think this one.

So what IS "The Story From Hell?". Well you see I've been trying to think of short comics to do to practice paneling and that-not, I've had spoofing fairytales, how to be me.. but I wanted to do something original... not that this really is but still.

I had sworn, SWORN, I would NOT do a story about fallen angels or angels in general. Its so overdone, but I just can't help myself. I'm way into myths, folklore and demonology, religous or not.

So I'm still writing this, I want it to be relativly short. Like a one-shot comic deal. I didn't mean to make these character designs I just did one day a while ago. I can't help the stories that come to me I work all subconciously @_@. The guy in the red leather with the cleft-toe boots you might have guessed is Satan. The dude behind him? Lucifer. Yeah.. I made them two different people. But let me explain the idea behind it (And please, religious folk, don't see this as anti-christian or get all up in arms, its basically just my take on old religious fables, go piss on Dante and Milton for starting the idea).

Anyway, back in the old old Christian literature a "satan" was just a type of angel. The word satan means "to oppose" and these angels were under the command of God, and spent time interfereing with things on earth and gathering the dirt on the sinful.

Now I recognize the angel that took two thirds of Heaven to war against God as Lucifer the Morningstar.. basically cause.. dude thats an awesome name. But what I always wondered is why would the Angel condemned to Hell, the one Hell was CREATED for, be punishing the souls of the wicked that God ALSO condemned to hell? It doesn't make sense to me.

So I came up with the idea that Satan was a young angel, put in charge by God to punish the toasty souls of the damned. So pretty much he's actually a boy scout, he loves his Lord so much, he doesn't mind having to live in hell carrying out deeds of torture for him. LUCIFER on the other hand, the Angel condemned to hell, is living there, giving Satan trouble, and playing "Devil's Advocate" if you will, always trying to get Satan to question his faith. So its pretty much a Christian vs. Atheist theology played out by two characters who are supposed to be the same Biblical figure. The significance of that? I have no idea. But look forward to seeing it in the future if I don't get writer's block and give up.
