Ahhh I decided to throw you good little boys and girls who watch my scraps a bone! And because I'll be slow with updating things.. you know.. UK adventures.. bad scanners etc.

Anyway yes! What is this!? Sai is designing ANOTHER new Angel? You bet your ass I am. As I've said before, I intend to design all 7 of the Archangel Princes (well the ones I decided on for my story, those lists of archangels shift from religion to religion, sect to sect, person to person) even if they only show up once or twice or go completely unused.

This is Israfel, I started working on him again while I was here in England. It's funny because I had lost my initial sketches of him and hadn't worked on him at ALL because I was afraid I'd never get his hair right again. I found them before I left for the UK and looked at them but I didn't bring them with me. And yet I think the sketch on the left is even better.

He's one of the Islamic archangels, but I keep drawing him in Italian clothing from like the 1500's and 1600's thereabouts. As he's the Angel of Music I think it gives him a very bard-like appearance (He also has a lute! Yay!). Also I've been having fun with dressing Angels in outfits from various cultures and time periods, reflecting the various ways they've been depicted over time and throughout the world. It gives some inconsistancy to the manner in which they all dress, yes, but I think it also greatly varies their designs and encompasses all different historical views of Angels.

Anyway, not much to say on his personality. He'd probably be more quiet and reflective. There is a story however that he can't look down into Hell without bursting into tears, weeping for the damned. Lol not sure if I'm gonna do anything with that, I don't want him to end up being too similiar to Gabriel.
