Randomness for the win!

This comic was inspired by something my friend Phage ( ~I-Heart-Justin ) said. See one night in the NiGHTSintoDreams.com IRC we randomly decided to mess around with Googlism and Phage decided to do one for my gen, THiSTLE.

EXPLAIN-O time. Gens are dream creatures and are the invention of *astrima. She, for the most part, bases them off real people. She assigns a color and an aspect to that person and makes a character out of them. In her story thinger the person the Gen is attached to becomes that Gen when they sleep and dream, and there's a whole other universe in our dreams.

So anyway, Phage was mocking me because one of the Googlism results said thistles are good for stomach aches, and he was laughing about the irony of it seeing as anyone who knows me well will tell you I get awful stomach problems. In fact I've been eating this yougurt lately that supposedly has some sort of bacteria in it, or something, to help digestion. But mostly I just like anything with blueberries in it (mm blueberry yogurt). And this is referenced also.

Doing random comics like this is actually good practice. As you can see I'm experimenting with more far-out expressions, with panels, tones and even fonts. So it's good to have some nonsense to try certain things out on. I've also been experimenting in doing backgrounds and objects digitally (seeing as I tend to get frustrated with rulers and measuring and can never keep things straight), some stuff in the background is drawn and inked normally, some of it is the shape tool in Photoshop. I feel dirty doing it, but if it means I can do backgrounds faster it's prolly a good thing

This entire comic was just an excuse to draw the "GWAR" panel.

I don't know why Katsu and THiSTLE are playing Jenga. It just came to me.

I really have a ying yang bandana. I wear bandanas and kerchiefs to keep my hair out of my eyes when I draw during times I let my hair get too long ( which is most of the time ).

My art desk is not that tidy. Nor is my room.

Like the last comic this will appear on my website mangapunksai.com in two seperate pages. It's just easier to make short stuff like this one Deviation.

Most of the drawing was done traditionally - India Ink on Bristol Board (seeing as people seem to miss all my work is done this way )
