OMG. Dat be sum Michael? Yeah he actually made it into an illustration. He almost didn't. He gets no love from me the poor bastard.

Trying something a little different again. And still messing around with simple shading.

This came out better than I thought in some ways, though Satan's face is a little.. off. but.. I decided to live with it, I need to just get art out of me, you know? Anyway, the frames here look good, I'm glad I went with this theme here.

One of Lucifer's eyes is glowing because he's setting something on fire. He does that sometimes. I was going to have fire in Azrael's frame orignally, but I went with leaves instead, inspired by an older, somewhat "alternate universe" piece featuring him. Associating him with leaves, for me, likely comes from the Islamic tradition of the angel of death, that when it's a person's time to die a leaf with their name on it falls from the tree of life under God's throne, and Azrael reads the name and has 40 days to collect their soul. My Azrael isn't quite like that but the leaf thing stuck in my mind. I went with maple leaves because I associate them with autumn, and because of the distinctive shape.

Gabriel got the most abstract panel here but I got the idea to have the background blend into his hair early on, I like it. As for Michael's frame, I was going to shade him with a dark yellow at first, but that blue (which looks green after the finishing touches) looked better.

Oh and since I'm lame I couldn't think of a better title other than the title of the song that got me sketching this image to begin with: "Angels of the Silences" by Counting Crows.

EDIT - I made some adjustments to the piece, minor ones because I'm still not very good at drawing with my tablet, but most noteably I tried the remedy the problem of Gabriel's panel being too empty-looking as a few people said. The color is a bit different on this version too. It's still not perfect but, still glad I tried it, I need to do more group images.

EDIT 2: S'more adjustments, again not perfect but I think I'm done noodling with it. Beefed up Satan's legs a bit as I personally was getting the feeling they were too thin, another color adjustment. This was a little trickier to edit than "The Devil and All that Jazz" as I was doing the adjustments before I finished completely based on critiques by *anystar and other internet peoples.

I was told his legs are too short too, but I can't see much I can do without disturbing the rest of the image. So at this time I'm just going to accept the flaw and learn from it.
